Reading FC manager Paul Ince has admitted that the club are still desperately looking for a left-back.
With a transfer embargo to tend with, the Royals are limited to signing free agents or loan players.
Ince is keen to still bolster his squad with four weeks of the transfer window left and has highlighted left-back as a priority area.
“We’ve got the lad Nesta (Guiness-Walker) who has done very well and hopefully he will be a good addition to us as a young kid,” said Ince.
“But we are looking for another left-back, that’s something we know that is glaring.
“We’ve got four weeks of the window so we’re still trying to find someone out there.
“We know our restrictions and how tough it is to get players.
“It’s been frustrating at times because we’ve missed out on a lot of good players, but we’ve got a core from last season and we’ve added to that.”
Young winger Omari Hutchinson has also been linked with a loan move to the Royals this summer.
The highly rated 18-year-old recently departed Arsenal to join Chelsea and is expected to be loaned out to gain first-team experience this coming campaign.
Addressing the speculation around Hutchinson, Ince said: “There will always be named floating about, just like any club.
“We’re on a tight, tight budget and we have to think about priorities.
“We lost our whole midfield and we’ve also looked to strengthen at the back and we’re still looking for a left-back.
“If there is any money left then we might look at someone like that, but we need to get our priorities right first.”
