READING Buses has made history after retaining a prestigious award for the third year running.

The Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT) Awards has announced that the company had become the first to retain the Passenger Transport Award for a second time.

The awards were held at the celebrated Silverstone racetrack on Thursday, September 25, celebrating the achievements of individuals and organisations making a lasting impact in the profession.

This year marked the 32nd annual iteration, marking outstanding contributions to diversity, sustainability, health and wellbeing, technological innovation, and logistics best practice.

CILT is the chartered body for professionals involved in the movement of goods and people and associated supply chain networks, and was established more than a century ago.

Among the other winners were M6toll, which took the Operations Management award; Network Rail, which was given the People Development award; and GXO & Green King, which took the Environmental Improvement award.

Robert Williams, Reading Buses’ Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are honoured, as well as shocked, to win for a third time in a row and complete the ‘threepeat’.

“This is something we didn’t expect, but it proves that what we are doing matters not only to our customers, but also to the industry.”

“Our motto is that we want to connect people and places with an amazing team – and we certainly do that.

“We have the best people giving the best service – both on the road and behind the scenes.

“We really couldn’t deliver for our customers without our amazing team.”

Helen Hardy, CILT(UK) Interim CEO, said: “The 32nd CILT UK Annual Awards have once again highlighted the outstanding talent, creativity and commitment that power our profession.

“As the professional body for logistics, transport and supply chain, we could not be prouder to be the ones showcasing such incredible talent and innovation within our sector.

“These awards are about more than recognition, they inspire progress, raise the bar, and celebrate the people who are truly making a difference. Congratulations to all our winners and nominees.”
