A Caversham school which goes ‘over and above’ has been nominated for an award.
Thameside has been put forward for School of the Year sponsored by Qwerty.
Their nominator, whose son has Autism Spectrum Disorder, said: “Thameside have gone over and above with supporting my son.
“They have made adaptions to his day/week to make them achievable for him. They have supported him through his trauma, diagnosis of ASD and understanding how it affects him. They support us as a family.
“Without funding, they created a specialist class and provided external learning,” they added.
“We have a two-way open relationship and work together to achieve a happy learning environment.
“The school are amazing with all the children, and I’ve seen such care towards my daughter and her class too,” said the nominator.
