Community Champion, Sarah Cheeseman, sponsor Reading Football Club
A teacher has been praised for the “incredible work” that she does with some of Reading’s most vulnerable students.
Sarah Cheeseman’s nominator for Pride of Reading Awards Community Champion said she “is a teacher who goes far beyond the call of duty, building genuine connections with each of her students and fiercely advocating for their well-being.
“These students face a multitude of challenges and Sarah recognises the unique needs of each one. She dedicates countless extra hours to ensure they feel supported, understood and empowered.
“Whether it’s being pivotal in supporting individualised learning plans, staying late for extra help sessions or simply offering a listening ear, Sarah creates a safe space where these students can thrive,” they added
“Her dedication doesn’t stop at academics. Sarah understands the challenges these students face outside the classroom.
“She actively seeks resources and support networks to ensure their basic needs are met and they have a strong foundation for success.
“Sarah’s compassion and commitment make a profound difference in the lives of her students. She is a true asset to our community and embodies the spirit of the award.”
