Charity of the Year, Readipop, sponsor Roc Search
A charity which aims to change lives through music has been put forward for a Pride of Reading award.
Readipop, which organises an annual music festival in Christchurch Meadows, has been nominated for Charity of the Year sponsored by Roc Search.
Its nominator said: “Readipop gave my child a purpose, they believed in her when nobody else did and never gave up… offering a safe space where she could relax, be herself and build on her passion for music.
“They saw a talent nobody else saw, a person with hopes and dreams, and worked on that, giving her confidence and opportunities she may have never have had. So many professionals still do not recognise mental health and offer the correct support. Readipop gave my child a reason to keep going.
