A ‘modest man’ and veteran supporter of charities has been put forward for Fundraiser of the Year.
Paul Farmer’s nominator said: “For many years Paul has supported the following charities, to name a few: Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice, Cancer Research, Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.
“He holds regular fundraising coffee morning and fetes and his tombola ‘win every ticket’ is very popular.
“Pushing pensioners to church, running around Coley Park, dressing up as an Elf at Christmas time, sleeping outdoors, abseiling down The Blade, numerous marathons and Race for Life are a few of his achievements,” they said.
“In total he has raised over £67,000 over the years.
“As a modest man he says he has raised all this money with the help of his many friends, supporters and the general public. I think an award would be very appropriate for him and his many charities.”
