A DAD who tragically lost his two sons three months before they were born turned his efforts to supporting special care baby units for local hospitals.
Trevor Goodall started New Life Special Care Babies in 1995 after losing his two sons, Joshua and Samuel.
By 2021, the charity had raised £1million for special care baby units across the south east.
The Royal Berks in Reading has benefitted from the funding, including Buscot ward which received £20,000.
Now his organisation has been nominated for the Charity of the Year award, sponsored by international recruitment company Roc Search.
His nominator said: “Trevor does incredible work. His struggle inspired him to take action to make sure he does everything he can to prevent parents going through the same experience.
“The equipment he fundraises for goes on to save countless lives, but there’s still much more to do, so we need to shine a light on this incredible cause.”
The Charity of the Year award recognises a local charity that has made an amazing impact to our community through partnership working with businesses, other charities and the public sector.
