Cultural Contribution, Matt Foster – The Rock Academy Foundation, sponsor M&G Real Estate
An “incredible human” and mentor and his organisation have been put forward for two awards, Cultural Contribution and Charity of the Year.
Matt Foster “is an incredible human,” said his nominator for the Cultural Contribution award. “He doesn’t just run a group, the Reading Rock Academy, but he also contributes to many other organisations and individual practitioners.
A nominator for the Charity of the Year award cited “the work they have been doing with young people in Whitley and in Thames Valley schools in making music accessible and giving a sense of worth and achievement to many neurodivergent children.
Other comments include “he is always willing to support where he can and I can say that there are a large number of events, activities and festivals that wouldn’t happen without him.
“More than that, he is a mentor to those entering the creative industries and he does it all with quiet kindness, without expectation of huge fanfare. Matt also runs a number of activities in areas of Reading that need it the most.
“ He has built relationships and trust with key communities. He has had a huge impact and it isn’t even the only thing he does. He is also a teacher for Newbury College. Matt makes the cultural sector a better place and he is also a top human.” they added.
Cultural Contribution is sponsored by M&G Real Estate and Charity of the Year by Roc Search.
