A woman whose company has been deemed “a massive asset to the local community” has been nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year.
Kara Chance’s nominator said she has worked tirelessly to make her dream come true to set up a permanent home for her business Virtue Movement Co.
Kara had originally offered classes through schools and after school clubs at Denefield School but they became so popular she had a huge waiting list.
“Not wanting to disappoint local children she realised she needed a permanent base to offer a full suite of classes,” said her nominator.
A site in Tilehurst fell through but Kara did not give up.
“She had put all her time, energy and money into it but not wanting to be beaten she persevered and managed to secure a permanent base in the old Crazy Kids building,” her nominator said.
“She completely transformed it and now offers gymnastics, tumble, parkour, freestyle, aerobics, pre-school and adult classes to thousands of children and adults,” said the nominator.
Kara also offers parties and meeting room hire.
“She provides lots of local jobs and values her staff offering support and training to everyone,” they added.
“She has even set up a welfare team to ensure all her members have support and somewhere to go if they have concerns.
“She values every child and ensures they have goals, certificates and competitions at all levels for them to take part in. Her company is a massive asset to the local community which is why I am nominating her for Entrepreneur of the Year.”
