An acclaimed independent Indian restaurant which also delivers cooked meals nationwide has been nominated for the Hospitality Award.
The popular Clays Kitchen & Bar was formerly located in London Street, Reading but moved to larger premises on the old Wetherspoons pub site in Caversham this year.
Its nominator said: “It’s garnered great reviews from high profile foodies like Jay Rayner and Tom Parker Bowles in the national press.”
The restaurant and pub features modern regional Indian cuisine and specialises in dishes from the Hyderabad and Andhra regions. It also offers a selection of dishes from other regions of India as monthly specials.
The business operates a delivery service across the UK, featuring its cooked and chilled vacuum-packed food.
The award is sponsored by REDA, Reading’s Economic and Destination Agency, inspired by and in memory of much missed Reading Post journalist, food writer and Pride of Reading Awards organiser Hilary Scott.
