Police community support officers have been carrying out foot and bus patrols across Whitley in Reading as part of efforts to improve safety and reassure residents.
Officers from the Thames Valley Police South Neighbourhood Policing Team were out on patrol throughout the afternoon and into the evening, working alongside partners including Reading Buses.
The initiative forms part of ongoing work to strengthen community safety and address concerns around violence against women and girls.
A spokesperson for the local policing team said officers were committed to ensuring that “everyone deserves to feel safe” when travelling or spending time in the area.
The patrols aim to provide a visible police presence, offer reassurance to passengers and residents, and encourage members of the public to speak to officers about any concerns.
Police said they would continue engaging with the community and urged residents to approach officers if they see them out and about.
