Reading FC were served a hefty defeat on Saturday afternoon as they fell 4-0 to Championship outfit Swansea City.

The visitors got their noses in front through Joel Piroe who doubled his tally early in the second period, before Jerry Yates and Matt Grimes completed the rout.

Bouzanis 5: Forced into some straightforward stops. Claimed crosses where expected.

Yiadom 4: A few bright moments early on but tired quickly. Was replaced after 37 minutes.

Holmes 4: Not the vice-captain’s finest performance. Gave the ball away on the edge of his box in the lead up to the second.

Dorsett 5: Never looked comfortable in the back four, often losing sight of his man and stepping up at the wrong moment. Appeared to have picked up a minor niggle and was replaced by Abbey.

Reading FC: Time for a change or keep the faith?

Guinness-Walker 5: Was able to get forward on occasion and delivered some decent crosses in the first half. Beaten a little too easily on the defensive side of things.

Savage 6: Showed signs of what he’s capable of, particularly in the first half when he adopted a deeper midfield position.

Rushesha 6: Enthusiastic and never afraid to ask for the ball and broke up the play nicely.

Azeez 5: Useful minutes under the belt. Still lacking that cutting edge in the final third, but brought the ball forward well at times.

Knibbs 5: A pretty quiet showing for the midfielder. Struggled to find his teammates in attacking transitions.

Carroll 5: Looked like a player who hadn’t played in months.

Ehibhatiomhan 4: Made some promising runs, but really struggled to hold the ball up effectively.

Substitutes:

Mbengue 5: Energetic and looked to get stuck in, but noticeably not up to match speed.

Craig 5: Went about his work in a business-like fashion.

Boyce-Clarke 4: Not the stopper’s finest outing.

Abbey 5: Lucky not cost his side a goal after getting dispossessed in a dangerous area.

Camara, Senga, Vickers: N/A
