AN APPLICATION has been submitted to create a new shopfront for a Reading building.
The property on Whitley Street currently comprises a laundrette, a barbershop, a flat and a storage area on Essex Street.
The building’s owners want to create a new shopfront for the Essex Street storage space, which they say is redundant.
This is a new proposal and follows a rejected plan to demolish the rear of the building and replace it with a new shop and maisonette (application reference 230506). This was turned down in July.
To view the application, log on to Reading Borough Council’s planning website and search for number 231169.
