A project that would have seen 80 flats built on a Tesco car park in Reading has been put on hold.
A plan to construct a new apartment building at the Tesco Extra car park in West Reading first emerged in 2023.
But three years down the line, the project has been shelved.
That is just one of the planning updates in the town this week.
Elsewhere, Reading Borough Council has approved a plan to convert a house into a family centre, and works are progressing to build new homes at a prominent corner site in Norcot.

Plan for 80 flats at Tesco car park withdrawn (PL/23/1041)
A project to build apartments at the Tesco Extra car park in Portman Road has been withdrawn.
The plan would have created 74 two-bed and six one-bed flats, and inevitably resulted in the loss of parking spaces.
But the application by Ridgepoint Homes was withdrawn on March 18, with no new documents submitted since December 2023.
That is despite the site being allocated for development in the Local Plan Partial-Update, and councillors wishing to conduct a site visit with officers to help with any potential decision on the project.
Progress for replacement of abandoned houses with 11 new homes (PL/25/1513)
Progress is being made on the development to replace four houses with six new homes at the junction of Water Road and Dee Road in Tilehurst.
The project, which is being undertaken by The Hurst Collection, is currently underway and will see six four-bedroom and five three-bedroom homes built when complete.
The development site was marketed by Winkworth.
While detailed plans of the materials and the construction method statement have been approved, the council has rejected details of the boundary treatment.
Conversion of house into family centre approved (PL/25/1688)
The owner of a six-bed house in Connaught Road, West Reading, has won permission to convert it into a mother care centre.
An appraisal of the plan states the centre would be used to support mothers to care for their babies and bring those skills to their family homes.
Each family will have their own private bedroom equipped with baby monitoring systems, cots, and storage space.
The centre will house up to three families at a time, with up to three staff staying there.
Extensions for flats above shops approved (PL/25/1340)
Extensions to create more space for flats above shops in Oxford Road have been approved.
The project involves adding a two-storey extension for the flats above Kai Nails and Reading Vape, and the removal of a paper advertising board.
The extension will create space for a bedroom and bathroom in flat one, and a shower room in flat two.
