Slow progress for 130 flats at Gas Tower site (PL/25/1045)
Slow progress is being made on the project to build three apartment blocks at the former Gas Tower site off Alexander Turner Close.
The development company in charge of the development has had its contaminated land remediation report signed off by the council, clearing the way for building to take place.
Last year, developer Danescroft applied to add a second stair core to the tallest proposed tower to comply with government fire safety regulations.
This led to a change in the mix of units provided, with a change to the flat numbers.
Temporary car park near flats and retail park (PL/25/0639)
A 50-space car park in Kenavon Drive has been given retrospective planning permission.
The car park is situated near the Padel Hub sports centre that opened earlier this year, the Kennet Wharf development and the Forbury Retail Park.
The NCP car park was established in April, with the council approving it on Friday, July 25.
Details for plan for flats along busy Caversham road approved (PL/25/1009)
Progress is being made on a project to replace a bungalow with six flats along Gosbrook Road in Caversham.
The plan to create a two-bedroom flat and five one-bed flats along the road was approved in January 2023.
The council’s planning department has recently approved a biodiversity improvement report by the applicant.
Permission for mobile home to be placed in garden (PL/25/0710)
A homeowner has won permission for a mobile home to be installed in their garden.
They own a semi-detached house in Peppard Road, Emmer Green, and applied for the mobile home to be placed to the rear of their property.
Details in a planning report state the mobile home would be solely by the owner’s own family.
The mobile home will also be in direct connection with the use of the main house, sharing the water and the electrical supply with the main property.
