A patchwork approach to road repairs in Caversham, that looks like a hopscotch grid, has been criticised.
Resident Steve Smith has taken photos of the repairs on a stretch of Richmond Road in Caversham Heights.
The photos show more than 30 tarmacked coverings and two dents in the road where the repairs appear to have failed.
Mr Smith said that the repairs must have cost “thousands” to undertake, joking about the ‘one patch at a time’ approach.
The residential road network is managed by Reading Borough Council’s highways department.
Neighbours can report potholes to the council on its website, with the location and images of the potholes to alert their officers.
The website can also be used to report a variety of other issues to the council’s streetcare team, including bin issues, dead animals, flytipping, and blocked public drains.
Issues can also be highlighted using the app Reportable, and the Fix My Street website.
Richmond Road serves as a link between Woodcote Road and Kidmore Road, which takes drivers from Reading and Caversham to South Oxfordshire.
Reading Borough Council has been approached for comment.
