THE ROYAL Berks Charity is celebrating the achievement of 73 dedicated runners who took on the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday, March 22, raising more than £40,000.
Participants raised vital funds to support patients and staff across the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust through the charity’s work.
Between them, those running in aid of RBC garnered just over £42,400 in donations, which go directly towards enhancing wards, departments, and services across the Trust.
This year’s event marks a particularly special milestone, as it forms part of Royal Berks Charity’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
Funds raised will help start the charity’s ambitious £300,000 equipment appeal, which aims to fund life-changing medical equipment.
This investment will support NHS teams to work more efficiently while improving patient care, treatment, and recovery experiences.
Martin Butler, Community and Events Manager at Royal Berks Charity, said: “We are incredibly proud of every single one of our runners.
“Taking on a half marathon is no small feat, and to do it while raising funds for our hospital makes it even more special.
“This is a fantastic start to our 30th anniversary year, and we are so grateful for the support of our community.”
