THAMES Valley Police has announced that an incident at Westbound Moto Reading Services’ lorry park last night has been resolved, with a number of people found inside a lorry.
Police warned motorists to stay away from the area in a post to social media at around 6pm on Wednesday, November 8, while they and other emergency services were responding to an incident.
In a subsequent post to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 9, Thames Valley Police explained that the incident had been “safely resolved.”
Seven adults and two children were found in a lorry, prompting police to begin a safeguarding response.
While two of the adults required hospital treatment, they have both since been discharged.
The lorry park at the services has now been reopened.
The statement read in full: “We’re pleased to say that the incident at the Moto Reading M4 Westbound services yesterday evening was safely resolved.
“Seven adults and two children were found in a lorry and have all been safeguarded.
“Two of the adults needed hospital treatment but have been discharged.”
