IT’S BEEN too popular for its own good, so McDonald’s has had to take it off the menu – with a promise it will be back very soon.
On Wednesday, February 7, the restaurant chain brought back its Breakfast Wrap after a three year absence.
The hugely popular item is a tortilla wrap stuffed with a pork sausage patty, two free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a potato rosti and cheese, and with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.
Its return is part of the company’s regular limited edition menus, so fans have been heading to restaurants to snap up the much-missed breakfast treat.
The company says that while it predicted fans would be thrilled with the return, they did not anticipate just how much, and it has had to remove it from sale with the aim of putting back on the menu in the coming days.
A spokesperson said: “Due to an unprecedented demand, McDonald’s has had to temporarily remove the Breakfast Wrap from the menu, to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items.
“It’s not goodbye, it’s just ‘see you very soon’.
“The Breakfast Wrap will be making its return, once again, hopefully next week.”
