A MAN has been convicted of shoplifting offences in Reading following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Justin Clift, aged 35 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting at a hearing at Reading Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 20.
It follows incidents at the opticians on Broad Street on Sunday, November 5, and Wednesday, November 8, during which Clift stole a total of seven pairs of Ray-Bans sunglasses.
He is now due for sentencing on Tuesday, January 9.
Investigating officer, PC Vince Moore, based at Reading police station, said: “This demonstrates that Thames Valley Police will take shoplifting offences seriously.
“We will not tolerate this behaviour and continue to place these offenders before the courts.”
