READING FC go up against play-off chasing Luton Town in their final Championship match of the season.

The Royals will be looking to end the season on a high under interim manager Paul Ince after two successive defeats since their survival was confirmed.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s opponents still have it all to play for as they look to wrap up their spot in the top six.

Nathan Jones’ side have had an incredible campaign which sees them in fifth place heading into the final day.

Despite having one of the lowest budgets in the division, the Hatters have kept the pace and have 20 wins to their name which could see them make the play-offs.

A win over the Royals on Saturday would confirm their place in the play-offs.

Luton are currently two points above seventh-placed Middlesbrough, who are away at Preston on Saturday.

Luton took all three points on their travels to Berkshire earlier in the season in January.

An own goal from Tom Holmes was followed by Allan Campbell’s second-half strike to give the away team the win.

Reading are winless in their last three against Luton, losing two and drawing one without scoring a goal.

The Royals’ last victory at Kenilworth Road came in July 2020 when the season was completed behind closed doors.

Reading forward Yakou Meite will have fond memories of that day after he smashed in four goals on the way to a convincing 5-0 win for the Royals.
