A NEWBURY man has been served a jail sentence after driving while disqualified in Reading.
Nicholas Heavingham, aged 33 and of Newtown Road, Newbury, pleaded guilty to a count of driving whilst disqualified at a hearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 25.
He was subsequently sentenced to 23 weeks’ imprisonment, disqualified from driving for a further year, and ordered to pay fines of £239.
It follows an incident at around 1.20pm on Wednesday, January 24, when Heavingham was seen driving a Range Rover on the A4, Bath Road, while he was known to be disqualified.
He was arrested and charged on the same day.
Policing Unit, said: “Nicholas Heavingham continues to drive despite being disqualified.
“Heavingham’s conviction shows we will always seek to stop, arrest and prosecute people who choose to drive whilst disqualified.
“The sentence Heavingham received reflects the serious and dangerous nature of his offending.”
