AN ASSESSMENT of the flats being built on the former Jackson’s department store has been successfully completed.
Five years ago, Kings Road LLP received permission from Reading Borough Council to redevelop Jackson’s Corner to provide new commercial spaces and 33 flats. Consent was granted on the condition that the flats fulfil Building Research Establishment (BREAMM) quality requirements.
A council planning officer has confirmed that the new flats meet this standard.
There are also plans for food businesses to occupy restaurant units in Jackson’s Corner, with Rosa’s Thai Cafe and the Fat Hippo burger chain showing an interest.
