Reading FC fans have reacted on social media after it has emerged that manager Leam Richardson is a candidate for the vacant Blackburn Rovers job.
Rovers parted company with Valerian Ismael last week and are in the process of hiring a new boss to try and keep them in the Championship.
They are currently just one place above the relegation zone in 21st, only staying out of the bottom three on goal difference.
Despite only joining Reading in October, Richardson has been strongly linked with the job.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “In my opinion it would be a very bad look to jump ship at this point when the owners have given him great backing in the transfer window. Would make Pardew and McGhee look honourable.”
Another added: “It’s a good fit but would seem an odd time to leave. Reckon his relationship with Couhig would be the defining factor in staying.”
Another supporter said: “Would be an extremely poor choice to move to Blackburn considering their situation. Leam has a project here and it is just starting to grow and improve.”
It is understood that Richardson, who started his playing career with Blackburn, is on the club’s shortlist alongside other names including Robbie Savage, Chris Coleman and Tony Mowbray.
However, some fans have said that they would be in favour of the move.
One said: “Let him go if he wants, can’t say I’ve warmed to him or his dull boring football.”
Another added: “Fantastic news, let him go. They can have him and then bring back our old manager.”
