A NEW art showcase will display the works of two artists’ sculptures and paintings, whose passions lie in the environment and the strength of women.
The Rising Sun Arts Centre’s We Are exhibition will be available to enjoy from November 11-12, with local Iranian artists Andre Aghassi and Sevin Sohrabi presenting their pieces.
Andre said: “I have a strong passion for sculpture and painting and have tried to provide a new perspective on my surroundings contrary to my artistic style.
“In creating my paintings and sculptures I have attempted to use recycled materials to help the planet as it is our Mother and we should respect it.”
Sevin added: “My art celebrates women’s strength and beauty in life’s various aspects. My art reflects the struggles and victories of those who fought for freedom. I have infused Iranian women’s protest spirit into my work, capturing their determination.”
The exhibition is free to attend and will take place from 11am-5pm on both days, with an opportunity to hear from the artists from 5pm on the Saturday.
Refreshments will be served throughout the duration of the exhibition.
