Reading town centre was transformed into a river of light on Saturday evening as hundreds of residents took part in the annual Glow Lantern Parade.

Families, schools and community groups carried handmade illuminated lanterns through the streets, creating a dazzling procession of colour and creativity. Led by drummers and performers, the parade brought music and energy to the town centre as crowds gathered to watch and take photos.

The much-loved event, organised by local arts groups and community partners, once again proved a highlight of Reading’s winter calendar — celebrating community spirit, creativity and togetherness.

From intricate animal designs to glowing hearts and stars, the lanterns lit up the night and showcased the imagination of those who made them, rounding off the evening with a vibrant celebration in the heart of the town.
