IF YOU love a special burger currently on the menu at a Reading-based restaurant, chances are you can thank Ed Sheeran.

For the singer-songwriter has launched his own hot sauce called Tingly Ted, and it is proving to be as popular as his music.

So during August, Honest Burgers is splashing on a liberal quantity into their monthly special – the first restaurant chain to partner with Tingly Ted in this way.

The Ted’s Halloumi Burger uses the Xtra Tingly Sauce, as well as British halloumi from Briddlesford Farm Dairy, American cheese, crispy onions, avocado ranch mayo, lettuce and pickles.

A lifelong ketchup and hot sauce obsessive, Ed launched Tingly Ted’s as after working sauce experts from Heinz. It is a jalapeño hot sauce that can be used like ketchup.

The fruity jalapeño hot sauce brings lots of extra complexity from smoked sea salt, smoked paprika, and herbs. Lemon and ginger give it a fresh flavour that brings a tingle to your tastebuds.

Adam Layton, Honest Burgers head of food, said: “It’s not every day Honest Burgers gets to duet with a real star of the sauce world, so we were chuffed to be the exclusive restaurant launch partner for Tingly Ted’s in the UK.

“The Ted’s Halloumi Burger is an exclusive collaboration that has all the ingredients to become a smash hit this August with our diners.”

The burger is only available until September 4, and is £14.50 and served with homemade rosemary salted chips for people dining in or collecting from the High Street branch. It’s £15.50 with a side when ordered via Uber Eats.

And throughout the month, Honest Burgers is asking budding superstars to #buskforyourburger by uploading themselves singing a song, on TikTok or Instagram, and tagging @honestburgers and @tinglyteds along with the hashtag. The winner will get £250 to spend in Honest Burgers.
