THE MONASTIC community at Douai Abbey dates back hundreds of years, and a chance to discover more about its history is coming up with a special tour.
Members of Berkshire Family History Society are organising a look at the Upper Woolhampton place of worship, its libraries and its archive buildings.
The event, from 10.30am to noon on Thursday, March 21, will see Abbot Geoffrey explore some of the archive material relating to Berkshire families – its libraries date back to 1615.
Places need to be booked in advance and cost £5, or £4 for members.
