THE MET Office has upgraded its weather warning for Storm Eunice to red in some parts of the country.
Storm Eunice is currently expected to cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions in the south west tomorrow.
The alert covers coastal areas around the Severn Estuary, including Bristol, and extends along the north coasts of Cornwall and Devon. It also includes Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales.
A red alert means that there is a danger to life. Damage to property, disruption to power supplies, and transport disruption is very likely.
An amber alert is still in place for Berkshire, although this may change.
Wind speeds will build throughout the early hours of Friday morning in the county, with gusts of up to 70mph expected from around 9am.
An amber weather warning means that there is an increased likelihood that there will be some disruption. This includes flying debris, fallen trees or power lines, and a potential for damage to life and property.
Drivers are encouraged to check the latest weather and travel conditions and consider delaying their journey as sudden gusts of wind can affect the handling and braking of their vehicle. Lorries, caravans and motorbikes are most at risk and have been advised to slow down.
