Former Reading FC loanee Casare Casadei has been called up for Italy’s senior side for the upcoming international break.
Casadei had a short spell with the Royals as he joined on loan from Chelsea for the second half of the 2022/23 season to play for Paul Ince’s Reading side.
He showed glimpses of great quality during his 15 appearances for the club, including an excellent goal against Blackburn Rovers, however Reading were relegated that season.
After a loan spell with Leicester City last season, Casadei recently completed a permanent move away from Chelsea during the January transfer window as he moved back to Italy to join Serie A side Torino for around £12.5million.
He played a total of six games this season for Chelsea, five of which were in the Europa Conference League before he opted to make a move away in search for more regular game time.
The 22-year-old midfielder has scored one and has one assist in five Serie A apperances for his new club which was enough to see him earn a call up to Luciano Spalletti’s Italy side for the international matches later this month.
Meanwhile, Torino are currently in 11th spot in Serie A.
