Former Reading FC midfielder Jeff Hendrick has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33.
The Republic of Ireland international spent one season with the Royals and made a total of 45 Championship appearances and netted four goals in the 2022/23 campaign.
Hendrick struggled for form in his first few months with Reading but did manage to have a much more positive second-half to the season on his loan deal from Premier League Newcastle United.
However, the season ended in heartbreak for Reading as they were relegated from the Championship as Noel Hunt was unable to rescue the season in the final few games on an interim basis after Paul Ince had managed the side for the majority of the campaign.
Hendrick played four seasons for Burnley in the Premier League and then two for Newcastle before he spent time on loan at QPR, Reading and then Sheffield Wednesday.
He also made 79 international appearances for the Republic of Ireland.
