IT WAS a play for voices. Now it’s a jazz suite, and it can be heard in Woodley later this month.
Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood will be given a musical interpretation when it is performed at The Oakwood Centre on Saturday, February 17 from 7.45pm.
Stan Tracey’s take features eight tunes, each helping flesh out the lives of one of the inhabitants of the fictional Welsh fishing village of Llareggub.
This production was first developed at Goring Community Jazz Club, and recently performed at Oxford Festival of the Arts, the Marlow Jazz Club, and as Bracknell Jazz Club’s 10-year anniversary concert.
Tickets cost £16.26, and the theatre is on Headley Road in Woodley.
