FLORAL tributes have been left outside the home of Maya Bracken in Pangbourne.
The 56-year-old was stabbed on Thursday, January 5.
Thames Valley Police said they were called to a road traffic collision at 5.45pm at the junction of the A340 Tidmarsh Road and Flowers Hill.
On arrival, they discovered Ms Bracken in a Lexus car. Despite medical attention, she died at the scene.
Shortly after, Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police officers were called to the railway track in the village, where an 18-year-old man died at the scene.
Neither victim has been formally identified but the next of kin for both have been informed and specially trained officers are supporting them.
Police closed roads and the railway station during their investigation.
They said they are not looking for anyone in connection with either death.
The Sun said neighbours described Ms Bracken as a kind person who would do anything for her three children.
Wellwishers, family and friends have left bunches of flowers at the gates of Ms Bracken’s home in Flowers Hill.
Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, head of the major crime unit at Thames Valley Police, said on Friday: “We have launched a murder investigation after the death of a woman near Flowers Hill, Pangbourne, and the associated discovery of a deceased man at Pangbourne railway station.
“Firstly, I would like to send my condolences on behalf of the force to loved ones of both at this extremely difficult time.
“We are in the very early stages of this complex investigation, but we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with either death.
“We are still investigating but are treating the two deaths as linked; we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances of each. There is no wider threat to the public from these sad and tragic incidents.”
