FIRE CREWS and police were called out to an Earley pub this afternoon after a fire.
In a video on social media, smoke could be seen rising from The George on Loddon Bridge Road.
At least one fire engine and police car were at the scene, with emergency service staff working on site.
They have now left, and the pub has been closed, with a sign taped to the door.
There is an oven in the car park, which is thought could have been the cause of the fire.
A spokesperson for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 12:25pm on Friday, 21 January, we received reports of a fire at a commercial premise on Wokingham Road in Earley.
“Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Whitley Wood attended the incident, alongside one Officer.
“Upon arrival, crews found a fire in a ground floor kitchen, which they extinguished using four CO2 extinguishers and three foam extinguishers.
“Crews were on the scene for around one hour and 30 minutes.”
