AN EVENING of jazz with a renowned musician is coming to Pangbourne early next month.
The Pangbourne Jazz Club meets on the first Sunday of the month at the village’s Working Men’s Club in Whitchurch Road.
On Sunday, February 4, they will welcome Denny Ilett. His guitar playing, and smooth vocalising has seen him land appearances at Ronnie Scott’s fronting his jazz salute to Jimi Hendrix with the Electric Lady Big Band.
He has toured the world, playing with Lillian Boutté, the official musical ambassador for New Orleans; a title only previously held by Louis Armstrong.
For this gig, he will perform music described as in the style of gypsy swing, and will be accompanied by the Terry Hutchins Quartet.
Tickets cost £12.50 on the door. If booked in advance, there is a booking fee.
Doors open at 6.45pm, the first set starting at 7.30pm. The event ends at 10pm.
