Thursday 11.50am update: Police confirm death of a pedestrian
Thursday 8am update: The Royal Berkshire Hospital says the car park is now reopened, and people who are attending appointments are asked to come in as usual.
EMERGENCY services have been called to the Royal Berkshire Hospital this evening due to an incident in its multi-storey car park.
Thames Valley Police have told Reading Today it is responding to a serious collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
There are unconfirmed reports that a body was found on the first floor.

The entrance is currently closed, with a barrier in place and security staff turning drivers away. The hospital is open as usual, and on-street car parking options are available in the surrounding streets.
The affected area of the car park has been cordoned off to allow police to conduct their investigation. A pick-up truck has also been seen on site.
Earlier today, Greatest Hits Radio Berkshire & North Hampshire News tweeted a picture showing a police cordon in the car park.

Emergency services have not let people into the car park, but vehicles have been allowed to leave.
In addition to fire crews and police, a Department of Transport collision investigation car has been seen on Craven Road. The emergency response has since been scaled back and there is minimal presence outside the Craven Road building.

In a statement, Thames Valley Police said: “We are currently on the scene of a serious collision involving one vehicle at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
“The multi-storey car park is currently closed, and we would ask anybody using the hospital to find alternative parking arrangements.
