MEMBERS of the public will be able to enjoy meals served at the fraction of the cost as a community restaurant reopens its doors.

The Kitchen at Reading College and University Centre welcomed residents back on Wednesday, October 4, with diners able to try out the college’s professional culinary arts students’ creations as they sharpen their skills.

Teaching staff oversee the students’ work as they whip up dishes, and visitors can also watch them at work through the modern restaurants’ large viewing window.

Saffron Charles, Hospitality Operations Supervisor at Activate Learning, said: “Our professional culinary arts students are excited to welcome both loyal and new customers to The Kitchen.

“Our students have been working hard in preparation and are looking forward to putting their skills into practice and supporting the local community.
