A NEWTOWN man has been jailed for three years for drug dealing.
Nathaniel Stapleton pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug – crack, and possession with intent to supply a class A drug – heroin.
On July 1, 2021, Thames Valley Police were tipped off that a drug deal had taken place in Kennet Walk, where Stapleton lives.
As officers arrived at the scene, they saw Stapleton make off on an electric scooter.
The 37-year-old was chased and found to be in possession of a bag of class A drugs including crack and heroin with an estimated street value of around £2,800.
They then searched his home and found a phone that contained a message from an individual asking to purchase drugs.
Stapleton was charged on January 29 this year, and sentenced on Tuesday, March 26.
Investigating officer, PC Russell Morbey, of the Reading Stronghold Team, said: “Our Stronghold team will proactively target offenders to bring them before the courts.
“We are committed to pursuing and disrupting offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
