Drugs, a weapon and 11 electric bikes have been seized during a police raid at a property in Southcote, Reaidng.

Officers from Thames Valley Police carried out the operation at an address in the Southcote area on 11 December.

The force said the warrant was executed by its Tilehurst and Southcote Neighbourhood Team and resulted in multiple arrests.

In a statement, police said: “A significant amount of class A and B drugs, cash and a weapon were seized, amongst other items.

“Multiple arrests were made and 11 e-bikes seized from the address will now be disposed of.”

An image shared by the force showed a number of bikes piled onto the back of a recovery truck.

Earlier this year, in April, police announced they were stepping up efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and other crime in the Southcote area.

Local councillor John Ennis said policing in the area could be challenging but was appreciated by residents.

He said: “I can say personally in Southcote there is effort and work put in, because sometimes it can be an absolute thankless task where you can’t please anybody.

“We must really appreciate police, the work they do and their efforts.”
