WE LOVE a hearty meal, and this week it’s a musical feast.

Heading up the hit parade is beans, beans, the musical fruit… well, not quite, but certainly the melodies of Beans on Toast, great artist who will be visiting Reading next year – save the date.

Beans is just one of several new entries in our playlist, which you can tune into for free on Spotify.

Simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

Beans on Toast – AI

This singer-songwriter has played in the local area a few times for Club Velocity and pulls a bigger crowd each time. He’s coming back to the Reading Face Bar on March 5 as part of an extensive tour for his forthcoming album The Toothpaste and the Tube which is out on December 1.

He is known for his excellent songs which explore social issues and current affairs with astute observation, wit and catchy choruses.

This single covers the subject of Artificial Intelligence and, not only does Beans on Toast comment on the subject, he has actually used AI to create the chorus lyrics – https://beansontoastmusic.com/

Tom Webber – Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime

Here’s another artist that has been championed by Club Velocity (Sid and Nigel certainly know good music) and it’s not hard to see why.

Tom, from Oxford, has released a new four-track EP, The RAK Tracks, and it’s a quality release.

The whole EP shows what a unique voice Tom has and the three original songs show what a good songwriter he is.

We are showcasing here though a brilliant interpretation of a song many will know, as it’s the famous hit by The Korgis.

Tom’s vocal performance is excellent alongside a wonderful duet from Maya Lane – https://www.tomwebbermusic.com/

Barbara – Pretty Straight Guy

If you are going to Reading Hexagon on October 28 to see those fine purveyors of 80’s pop, Haircut 100, make sure you get there in time to see the support band.

They are Barbara, a band from Brighton based around brothers, Henry and John Tydeman, and, from the sound of this single released earlier in the year, they are fine purveyors of current pop and are well worth checking out – https://linktr.ee/barbaratheband

Kyros – Esoterica

This band have many links to the local area, including being on our White Star Records label, and they have just released their new single.

It’s a brilliant track with pulsating rhythms and an anthemic chorus – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Danny Lampo – Number One

This song features on the Reading musician’s African Queen EP that was released earlier this year.

It feels like it should be a huge international hit with its chilled groove and guest vocal from AJ Safoa – https://www.dannylampo.com/

Rocket Kings – Paving the Way

This is the title track from the band’s new album. See them at The Castle Tap in Reading on December 9 – https://www.facebook.com/rocketkings/

The March Violets – Snake Dance

The March Violets came out of the Leeds goth scene in the 90s and were regularly high in the indie charts of the time. Don’t miss the chance to see them live on October 26 at Face Bar Reading – https://www.facebook.com/TheMarchViolets

That Joe Payne – My Heart

Here’s a great song from the brand new album, Bread & Circuses by an artist that has played at Wokingham Festival’- https://www.thatjoepayne.com/

Trim – Restart

This is a great song from the album, Resolve by this band created by local songwriter, Chris Trim – https://www.trimmusic.co.uk/

Rila’s Edge – Gold

This Wokingham band play further afield this month with shows in London and Bristol. Check out their social media for info – https://www.rilasedge.com/
