AN ANNEXE at a Tilehurst primary school will be demolished following approval to a revamp plan.
The Year 6 block at Park Lane Junior School in School Road will be replaced by an extension to the car park, creating at least five spaces plus two additional spaces for disabled users. This will be accessed via Downing road.
The project will also include replacing windows and internal refurbishments.
It has been made possible by a move for Year 3 pupils to the adajecent infant school site, so Year 6 can move into the main junior school building.
However, the moving of Year 3 pupils onto the Infant School site will allow Year 6 pupils to be taught within the main Junior School building.
The decision was made at a meeting of Reading Borough Council’s planning committee on Wednesday, January 31. The application can be seen on the council’s website, searching for reference: 231707
