READING Borough Council has announced that it will begin waste collection early on Monday, September 19, due to Her late Majesty The Queen’s funeral.
Collections will begin at 5am and finish at 10am, which will allow staff to pay their respects and avoid disturbance for residents.
Residents are encouraged to put their bins out the night before so that they will be ready for collection.
The council also said that any waste not collected by 10am should be left out, with catch-up collections taking place during the “following few days.”
Monday will see the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and a bank holiday will be observed.
