THE team behind a new climbing centre in Tilehurst are hoping to serve alcohol to its customers.

The Climbing Hanger is due to open before Christmas, and will be the eighth location for the growing business.

Based in Stadium Way Industrial Estate, owners Grip UK Ltd has applied to Reading Borough Council’s licensing department for permission to sell alcohol and play music during The Climbing Hangar’s operating hours.

Alcohol would be available between 10am-10pm on weekdays, and until 9pm at weekends, and recorded music from 6.30am to 10pm on weekdays, and 9am to 9pm at weekends.

The centre will have a cafe, kitchen and seating area.

Anyone who wishes to make a representation about the application can do so by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk.
