A SINGING group is set to showcase its vocal talents at an upcoming recital at Douai Abbey, Woolhampton, which will raise money for Reading’s refugee community.
Reading Phoenix Choir’s Sing for Refugees will see a selection of predominantly acapella classics from across the centuries performed, ranging from Hildegard von Bingen to Josu Elberdin, all in aid of the Refugee Support Group.
Music by Tallis, Wesley, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Elgar and Rutter will also feature, as well as some works by young modern composers.
Tickets are £12 and £6 for under 18s.
The event takes place from 7.30pm on Saturday, October 21.
