ONE OF Reading’s culinary hotspots has laid out its events calendar for April, including hosting prestigious food awards and a Q&A with the off-field team at Reading Football Club.
Blue Collar Corner has announced its packed schedule for the rest of the month as it dusts off the roof terrace ahead of summer.
After kicking off the month with Reading’s Indie Market, Ben Narbatus & Friends will be performing at the venue on Thursday, April 6.
Indie Brunch will be hot on their tails, bringing the Are You Listening? Festival’s DJs to the decks along with Fajita Funk.
Saturday, April 8, will see DJ Acronym and DJ Ryan MacGrecgor take up the mantle, followed by The Funky Witchdoctor Club, DJ Smiler, and Jim B Donovan’s Vintage Soul Party on Sunday, April 9.
Blue Collar is set to host the southeast heats of the British Street Food Awards from Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16.
The awards see regional contenders battle it out for street food superiority ahead of a grand final in London this summer, which will crown the culinary creme-de-la-creme as well as giving the People’s Choice award, Best Burger, Best Vegetarian, the Spice award, and even the coolest looking van.
DJs Rob Wire and Chris Gale will perform during the event.
Later in the month, Blue Collar will be supporting Age UK Reading with the launch of this year’s 19 Something Festival.
The festival will see indie and unsigned acts take to the stage to perform stripped-back sets, raising vital funds for the charity on Sunday, April 23.
Football fans will also be catered to as the Supporters Trusts at Reading is bringing Mark Bowen and the off-field team at Reading FC to the venue for an evening of talks and Q&A sessions.
Blue Collar also holds regular DJ sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays.

“We last hosted the Awards at Market Place in November 2020 where the quality and variety of food on offer was incredible.
“It’s so exciting to see future food trends – this is a chance to experience the very best of the British street food scene, vote for your favourites, and support independent businesses.”
He explained: “Variety of food is an ongoing theme here at Blue Collar Corner now with our four kitchens on short-term rotations between two to four weeks each keeping the food option fresh and exciting”
“Our evenings with Brian McDermott in conversation last year were very special events, so we’re really happy to be welcoming more Reading FC-related events on Wednesday, April 26th, when the Supporters Trust of Reading host an evening with Mark Bowen and the off-field team.”
