An award-winning games store in Reading is gearing up for a relocation in the town centre.
Eclectic Games has been in Union Street, commonly known as Smelly Alley, for years, building a pedigree for selling a host of board games, card games, role-playing games and miniatures.
An independent, it has been recognised in the Small Business Saturday Awards in 2023 and 2024.
Now, Eclectic Games is gearing up for a relocation to Dukesbridge House.
The business website states: “We’re moving to our new location on Duke Street in August!
“To facilitate our move, the store will be closed for shopping and events from August 10 to August 25.
“We look forward to seeing you at 21 Duke Street, Reading RG1 4SA from Tuesday, August 26!”
Eclectic Games will be taking over the unit vacated by the Unleashed Performance gym following its relocation to Apex Plaza in May.
The games business won advertising consent for its burgundy signage with white lettering on Tuesday, July 29.
You can view the approved planning application by typing reference PL/25/0774 into the council’s planning portal.
The Small Business Saturday Awards in the town are run by Matt Rodda, the Labour MP for Reading Central.
The unit Eclectig Games will be moving into was previously occupied by a Subway that was closed for years.
Dukesbridge House was subject to a plan to rebrand it ‘Republiq Reading’, which was approved in May 2022 but apparently not enacted.
