Signature at Ascot, a luxury care home based in Ascot, organised several events for residents and families to celebrate Royal Ascot.

As part of the home’s ‘Royal Ascot Week’, residents took part in a ‘best dressed’ competition.

The Signature at Ascot garden was set up as a viewing area allowing residents to observe the arrival of the Royal Ascot guests in their finery.

Armed with scorecards, the residents were able to rate the outfits of the arriving guests whilst enjoying a buffet of iced tea, finger sandwiches, and fruit. The ‘Best Dressed’ winner was recognised by the General Manager, Raina Jordan.

The next day, the home held a Ladies Day Ballroom Dancing event, where residents dressed in their favourite outfits and were transported back to the era of foxtrot, waltz, and tango to celebrate Ladies Day at Ascot.

The Signature at Ascot bistro was transformed into a fully functioning dance floor, complete with dance instructors to guide them through the moves.

The event also included a photobooth with an Ascot-themed backdrop and props. The Ladies Day event also welcomed notable guest, Mel Lewis, who gave an informative talk.

To wrap up the week’s celebrations, residents and their families were invited to a Royal Ascot drinks reception in the home’s bistro area.

Attendees were entertained with games including a horse racing trivia quiz and a ‘Guess the Winner’ competition from the day’s live races, whilst enjoying race day themed drinks and cocktails.

Guests were also given an informative talk on the history, traditions, and significance of Royal Ascot, as well as interesting facts and stories. The drinks reception hosted 60 residents and family members to celebrate the annual event.

Through the week’s celebratory events, Signature at Ascot engaged residents in the excitement and traditions of the local community and created fun opportunities for families and loved ones to join in with the enriching social life of the home.

Tracy Campbell, CLM at Signature at Ascot, said: “Our team works hard to regularly organise enjoyable and engaging events and activities for our residents to take part in that are inclusive and enhance their quality of life. Being so close to Ascot Racecourse means that we can really get into the spirit of Royal Ascot with our unique and vibrant events.”
