A CELEBRATION of Reading’s artistic community proved to be a big draw.
Redlands Parish Hall in Erlegh Road was the venue for a two-day showcase.
In all, 21 artists took part, with seven having stalls. There were paintings and photos to explore, all created locally.
And there was a separate display from Level 2 Art and Design students, in a room leading to the church’s community garden.
Organiser Jane Kenyon said: “The weather was so glorious that people enjoyed being out in the garden, having tea and cake.”
She said the weekend showcase was appreciated by those who attended.
“There was a lovely atmosphere with some of the artists actually painting in situ,” she said adding that all stallholders sold pieces over the course of the event.
“I’ve invited everyone to come back for an exhibition in October, and they have all said yes.”
