A READING music group will perform a work considered by many to be Haydn’s masterpiece.
His 1798 oratorio, The Creation, will be performed by Reading Haydn Choir.
Inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost, it depicts the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis, and has been described as illuminating, vivid and joyfilled.
The choir will be conducted by Mandy Kesel, with the orchestra led by Antonia Kesel.
Soloists for the evening are: soprano Charlotte Shaw, tenor Jonathan Cooke, and baritone Jerome Knox, and pianist is Ian Westley.
This will be the choir’s 55th anniversary performance.
Audiences can enjoy the concert at St Joseph’s College, Reading, on Saturday, November 15, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £17 for adults, and £5 for under 19s, with £1 off advance sales.
