A BERKSHIRE bakery has taken home medals for the second year running from a national competition judging quality produce.

Your Davey Bread has been awarded the medals for its bread offerings at Britain’s Best Loaf, earning a Bronze for its Barley Bumpkin in the Plain Sourdough category and a silver for it’s Merry Berry loaf in the Flavoured Sourdough category.

It is the second year in a row that the bakery in Swallowfield has garnered awards for its loaves, after winning the

Britain’s Best Loaf is an annual event organised by leading baking industry publication British Baker that honours the finest bread produced by the nation’s best bakers.

Each loaf entered in all eight categories is put through its paces by the expert judges and scored on external appearance, internal structure, aroma, and taste.

This year a lemon and Earl grey brioche loaf was given the top award for Britain’s Best Loaf.
